"Kauai is sometimes referred to as
"The Separate Kingdom" because it was the only island in the Hawaiian Chain not
conquered by King Kamehameha I. Today, it may mean that its people have for generations
vigilantly safeguarded its natural beauty and tropical lifestyles against the outside
influences that would destroy our island's uniqueness.
Our warmest aloha is extended to you with hopes that you will come to love and respect our
island as we do, and that your visit to Kauai will be a most memorable, enjoyable and
enriching one.
